Two Bees or Not Two Bees?

April 2, 2009 By Administrator

This morning I was elated to find the first three cactus blossoms for 2009 in my Peoria, AZ front yard. Joy! I grabbed my Canon Rebel and slipped out the front door.

This particular picture does indeed have two bees. Some had more. Some less. And I learned a valuable lesson: never, ever wear flip flops when photographing cactus. I should have known better.

Two photos taken today at Desert Botanical Garden with artistic rendering by me. Tomorrow I’ll have at least one slide show up. This is an amazing exhibit.

Happy New Year!

January 2, 2009 By Administrator

My brother and I made two trips to Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium this week, and I’ve been busy playing with his pictures and mine. Mostly mine…we each took hundreds of shots. Had a wonderful time. The aquarium is new, and we loved it, but they’ve also expanded the rest of the property and there were a lot of fun monkey antics at the west end of the property. This will be the first of about four that I’ll put together.

Soryn Voetberg, Photographer

How can I not brag about my family? Yet another niece is following in the family tradition of being an excellent photographer: Soryn Voetberg.

Soryn, along with six siblings, parents, and brother-in-law, is spending a year in Ghana. Long way from Chehalis, Washington.

Recently the Voetbergs visited Togo, and this is one of her shots. What do you think?
