Did you know that coyotes are a common sight in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, where I live? I live near Sun City, and, more importantly, close to a golf course south of Sun City. And I see coyotes quite frequently when visiting my brother and sister-in-law, who live in a community with a number of beautiful golf courses. In most all cases, they look happy and well fed.
Problem is: sometimes their food is someone’s beloved pet.
Sun City Animal Hospital just put out a newsletter with an excellent article on what to do if confronted by a coyote, and how to care for your small pets in areas such as mine.
It’s worth the read for this, and also because of an excellent article on Hypothyroid Disease in Dogs and a column about beagles.
