About a week ago, my brother, David Crook, asked if I wanted to join him in a trip to Hassayampa Nature Preserve. Of course! Who cared if the temperatures were hovering around 100 degrees? There were lots of trees, and I’d take bottled water. We had a wonderful time. We’ve been there many times, and the subjects are always different. This time, near the end of our hike around the little lake, I spotted some crawdads in a creek area. Crawdads? “Nah,” said David, but once I showed them to him, he recanted and began taking pictures. They are somewhat camera shy and it wasn’t easy to get photos of them. But the fun! Look! There! And there! We learned later that they had imported these beautiful critters recently.
I’d like to share some of my photos, including the bark of a huge tree with various textures. Exciting. Hope you enjoy.
