Every year I'm overwhelmed by Hawaiian hospitality and beauty. This group of pictures is just touching on what I did and who I met this year. Highlights include seeing cousins David and Joanne Coon again, and meeting for the first time Holualoa postmaster, Tom McCarthy. He's a fantastic photographer and also enjoys writing in his spare time. We've been Internet buddies for quite a while. Here's the slideshow (just run the cursor over the pictures to see the captions):
An early morning trek down the Vorfeld driveway at Holualoa gave me some great shots of hydrangea and pineapple. I spiced up the pineapple shot. Watch out: sometimes I'm dangerous with software at hand!
The beautiful apricot-colored hibiscus are no more at the Vorfeld home, but a rich, new hibiscus is a close second. There's so much rain and sun and rain and sun in the mountains above Kailua-Kona, and plants love the cycle. So do I. I'm reveling in the rain after a very dry summer in the Phoenix area.
