Q. I read your criteria, but am not quite sure if I qualify. What should I do?
A. If you feel uncertain, go to one or more of the sites below and study the content before you decide.
Q. I read through the above pages, and know I need more work before I submit. Where can I go to learn more about good design and content?
A. Go to Webgrammar's Design pages. You'll find good links to articles, tutorials, and tips to help you improve your skills.
Q. I submitted my site weeks ago and have heard nothing. Why wasn't I informed that I didn't qualify? And why can't you tell me the reasons?
A. It's impossible to contact everyone who applies, although we wish it were possible. Here are a few reasons your site may not have been accepted:
Poor grammar, spelling, and/or capitalization; excessive use of graphics and animation; difficult-to-read text on a busy background; lack of professionalism; spamming of keywords and phrases; poor use of JavaScript; forcing visitors to answer questions in a pop-up window before they can continue; poor use of plugins; sites under construction; too much scrolling required; etc.
Q. May I see the award logo?
A. Absolutely. Find the The Idiom Sisters Content-Rich Award graphics here, and The Idiom Sisters Internet Guidepost Award graphics here
Q. I notice you have two awards: one for online content, and one for exceptional contribution to the Internet
A. Yes. As we put together this site, we realized some people would not fit our specific criteria, yet have mentored countless numbers of people without thought of reward or recognition. These people selflessly give of their splendid talent and skill, and the Idiom Sisters Internet Guidepost Award is one way to give them special tribute. Find these winners here.
