Getting The Beckster (Becky Blanton) to Britain
I have a people-raising request to make:
Some friends of Becky Blanton are getting awareness up for a contest entered by Becky, with Marty Whitmore illustrating and Megan Elizabeth Morris doing some of the web work. I did some copyediting on the site. If Becky wins, it will garner quite a bit of exposure and positive attention for Marty and Megan as well. It will mean, for Becky, an all-expense-paid trip to the TED Global conference in Oxford, England.
I would humbly request that anyone so inclined would go to this link, then vote for “Stay Hungry”.
The votes get tallied on January 15th.
I’d encourage anyone who is uncertain to read the site Becky, Marty and Megan set up at the following link, where Becky talks about many people who are staying hungry in their lives for more knowledge, more challenge and more change in the world. I really think this precept should win, and I’m hoping others will rally behind us.
If Becky and her team succeed, the benefit will be not just to the three of them but also to a list of incredibly worthy causes — like Drip It, 4PawsForAbility, and the Children Heart Foundation — that deserve more attention, and Becky talks about those on the site as well (under “Hungry People”.)
We’re rallying more stories, too, so if you have a lead on someone who matches what we’re doing, I’d love an email back from you.
