Fresh ground Caturra coffee from Kona…Aahhh!

I recently returned from a visit to Kona, where I stayed with the Vorfelds. They grow macademia nuts and coffee beans. Caturra coffee beans. There’s a word Hawaiians use to describe “delicious”: ono. And as I sat this morning sipping freshly ground coffee…it’s okay: it went through a Mr. Coffee machine…I thought of what a special treat this was. Rich and flavorful, but now overpowering. Ono.

Ted and Martha plant, nurture, harvest, and then send the beans through the processes to bring their caturra coffee into packaged perfection. That was the only kind of coffee I drank while visiting. It is sooo good. Here are a few pictures of what the beans look like while they’re ripening:
