Judy Vorfeld's Community Services Area
Community Involvement Makes A Difference!
Have you considered integrating your small or home-based business into your community by offering your services to a nonprofitor similar organization? Perhaps you don't have your own business, but are actively employed in the community.
I volunteer for several organizations both locally and on the Internet. Designing flyers and brochures works best for me; I need to be in my office as much as possible.
What unique type of support might you offer? And what types of organizations can use your help? Here are a few.
- Schools
- Churches
- Animal Rescue
- Police Departments
- Libraries
- Nursing Homes
- Food Banks
Most of our communities spill over with excellent organizations that need volunteers. I encourage people in any walk of life to consider community service. Find your local Volunteer Service Bureau and get involved. If you're new to the greater Phoenix area (where I live), and willing to do volunteer work, your best resource may be Volunteer Center of Maricopa County This organization comes highly recommended.
If you do Web design, consider donating your services: create and maintain a site for a nonprofit group. Good hosts can be found for as little as $4.95 a month.
