Ask Judy Question #16
Dear Judy: I've built up a nice local and online business in real estate. I'm looking for someone to give me administrative support, but s/he needs special knowledge and skills. Do Virtual Assistants do anything other than straight secretarial work?
Signed...Busy Realtor
Dear Busy Realtor: Virtual Assistants are highly educated and experienced in many fields. However, some do offer "Specialty Services" such as in Real Estate, Legal, Telemarketing and so on.
It is important to know your exact needs for a virtual assistant before you
start the interview process. If you are too vague about your needs, you may
miss out on the unique experience that a VA may have. It is important when
interviewing to find out their experience in the corporate world as well as
being a VA.
If you need someone to do your bookkeeping, then find out what experience
they have had and the same thing with Listing Presentations, Listing
Submissions, ordering Titlework, etc. You should be as specific as
possible.
As a Real Estate Professional you may even consider using multiple VA's,
each with their own area of expertise. You can search many of the VA
directories out there today and find someone with the qualifications that
you are looking for.
Good Luck!
